Chapter IV: World War - Night Three

Following the standard PANGAEA signature and introduction we faded in to a shot of the ring. Inside we saw PANGAEA Ring Announcer Smoke Perkins standing beside the PANGAEA Grand Championship which was on display atop a pedestal. The fanfare died down and Perkins lit a cigarette. He let out a cloud of smoke and then began to speak.

Smoke Perkins: "Paris. Tonight all of you will bear witness to a landmark moment in PANGAEA's history. Tonight we will crown the first Grand Champion."

There was a delay as Perkin's words are translated via the video screen. Once they caught up the audience popped.

Smoke Perkins: "This is truly a special night for our company and because of that, the head of PANGAEA Europe is in attendance. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce a member of the PANGAEA Board of Directors, the first proprietor...Ellis Straker."

Another delay and then a pop as the haunting piano of "Bad Ritual" by Timbre Timbre rang out over the p.a. system. After a few moments of anticipation a well dressed man stepped out from behind the curtain; this is Ellis Straker. He paused a moment to take in the scene before him and then made his way to the ring. He ascended up the steps and Perkins sat on the middle rope, holding it open. Straker wiped his feet on the ring apron and then entered.

Duff Buckley: "For those who don't know who this man is, this is Ellis Straker. A former wrestler turned trainer who owns and operates The Orphanage in Baltimore, Maryland. He was the first man contacted by the PANGAEA Chairman about creating this promotion."

Ramona Holiday: "I spent some time at The Orphanage years ago and learned a lot from this man. He is one of the best minds in the business. Everything that has happened with PANGAEA here in Europe has been his doing."

The music died down and Perkins handed Straker the microphone. Perkins then took his leave as Straker began to speak.

Ellis Straker: "Salutations. As Mr. Perkins already said, my name is Ellis Straker and I am the Head of PANGAEA Europe. I was elected by the Chairman to organize and oversee the first round of events for PANGAEA. I am a man who believes in wrestling. I believe in seeing the best competitors rise prominence based on their skill."

A beat.

Ellis Straker: "This is why you have not seen any ridiculous stipulations or anything outside of the heart of this industry. I do not care to see who can climb up a ladder the quickest. I do not care to see who can put their opponent through a table. I do not care to see any of the ultraviolence that you will find in other, lesser federations. When I oversee what occurs in PANGAEA, I oversee wrestling."

Following the delay there was another big pop.

Ellis Straker: "Now, that is not to say that you will not see those things in PANGAEA. Personal issues may demand for a loosening of tradition rules, however, we have not seen a need for that just yet. These first few events have been organized to determine a champion, a standard bearer. Tonight we will find out who that is."

Straker then turned his attention to the front row, specifically a hardened looking man with an eyepatch.

Ellis Straker: "Before we begin tonight's competition, I would like to acknowledge two men who are here in attendance."

Straker gestured to the man with the eyepatch.

Ellis Straker: "Both men are European wrestling legends and they have come here to see first hand what PANGAEA is making. This gentleman here is "The Tiger of Gaul" Antoine Le'Fontaine, a man who gave his eye to this business when he lost it in a barbed wire rope match in the mid-90s..."

Straker paused and then turned his attention to the other side of the ring where another man sat in the front row.

Ellis Straker: "...against this man. "The Baron" Raymon Vilaar has made several appearances in various federations over the years but made his name warring around Europe. These men are here to see who will be crowned Grand Champion, they are here to witness the new world of professional wrestling."

A beat.

Ellis Straker: "To both Olethros and Shaelin Marie O'Hara; this is the biggest night of your respective careers. Tonight you fight for the right to not only be the standard bearer of this company but of professional wrestling as a sport. Whomever wins tonight will be known as the absolute best in the world. Good luck."

"Bad Ritual" cued up again and Straker moved to exit the ring. The shot quickly switched to show Le'Fontaine glaring through the ring at Vilaar who sent the same glare right back.

Backstage Cesar Salazar is shown, however, not as we were used to seeing him. Salazar was bound to a wheelchair and it drew sympathy from many members of the Parisian audience. Salazar wheeled himself through the doorway of the locker room where he came upon Pedro Gonzales.

Gonzales took note of his friend and then continued chomping on his bubblegum and shadowboxing. Salazar got the boy's attention and indicated that he stopped.

Cesar Salazar: "Es hora de que reconstruimos, Pedro. Es hora de que te reconstruimos."

Pedro Gonzales: "Nunca estaba roto."
 
Cesar Salazar: "Eso es lo que yo esperaba."

With that Gonzales nodded and made his way out of the locker room with Salazar following behind him.

The next contest saw three up and comers square off. The three of them stood together in the middle of the ring and Gonzales was the first to strike. He went for a right hand and Armada ducked under it, causing Gonzales to strike Trashcan. Trashcan answered as Armada powdered to the outside.

Ramona Holiday: "Ah the classic trope of the triple threat match."

Gonzales and Trashcan exchanged shots back and forth until Trashcan nailed an uppercut that staggered Gonzales. Trashcan then got him up with a scoop, charged forward and smashed Gonzales upside down into a corner. Trashcan tied Gonzales' feet up in the top turnbuckle.

Duff Buckley: "Pedro Gonzales has all of the heart in the world but he has no chance in PANGAEA if he doesn't start diversifying his moveset. Roll ups will only get him so far."

Ramona Holiday: "I agree. The man is like a Mexican create-a-wrestler."

Armada watched from the outside as Trashcan charged and nailed Gonzales with a basement dropkick to the face. Gonzales fell out of the corner onto his face as Armada got up onto the apron. As Trashcan went for Gonzales, Armada hit a springboard into the ring and caught Trashcan in the back with a missile dropkick! Trashcan went down and found himself draped over the middle rope.

Duff Buckley: "Well I suppose we've figured out Armada's strategy. Run, strike, retreat, repeat."

Ramona Holiday: "Also known as 'Bitch Offence'."

Armada got Gonzales up and pushed him into the corner. Armada then tossed one finger in the air and charged at Gonzales, looking for a high Yakuza kick but Gonzales moved and Armada found himself caught on the top turnbuckle. Gonzales then fell behind him and rolled him up.

Ramona Holiday: "Anyone else tired of this schtick? Learn a suplex or something."

It actually looked like Gonzales might get another surprise win but Trashcan broke up the fall before a three could come down. Trashcan got Gonzales up and again Armada rolled to the outside of the ring. Trashcan ate a right hand from Gonzales and then another and another. 

Duff Buckley: "Gonzales is throwing some big hands at the garbage man."

Ramona Holiday: "Strikes rarely win matches. Gonzales needs to learn to wrestle."

Duff Buckley: "I disagree. One good strike can end a career."

Gonzales pie faced Trashcan into the corner and followed that up with a running high knee to the chin. Gonzales peppered Trashcan with a flurry of shots to the abdomen and ended the combo by stepping off of the second rope, executing another high knee to Trashcan's chin.

Ramona Holiday: "There is something new."

Trashcan staggered out of the corner right into a Steamboat-esque arm drag from Gonzales. Trashcan scrambled up to his feet and ate another arm drag. Trashcan got up again and this time Gonzales put him down with an impressive high drop kick. Before Gonzales could pin, Armada re-entered the ring and sent Gonzales head first through the ropes to the outside.

Duff Buckley: "I wonder how this young man became such an icon in the Video Game community."

Ramona Holiday: "Cheat codes."

Armada seized his opportunity, leaping on Trashcan's back hitting him with rights and lefts to the back of the head. Trashcan was able to stand but Armada ran to a corner, leaped to the top rope and came off hitting Trashcan with his Blink Dagger! Trashcan was flattened by Armada's body and the latter covered for a two count.

Duff Buckley: "Say what you will about Armada but he has literally taken no damage in this match."

Ramona Holiday: "He'd have to enter the fight to get damaged."

Duff Buckley: "He cannot run forever, Ramona."

Gonzales reentered the ring and went for Armada but Armada fled the ring again and hid under the apron, again. Gonzales went to make chase but Trashcan was up. He got behind Gonzales and tried one of his (only) moves, a roll up. Trashcan got a two count but Gonzales was able to kick out. Both men were back up and Gonzales surprised the hobo with a big spinning back fist. Trashcan staggered on the spot for a moment before his legs twisted and he fell face first onto the mat.

Duff Buckley: "There is that one good strike I was talking about. Trashcan is rocked."

The audience popped as Gonzales got Trashcan up and called for the end. Gonzales put Trashcan in a front face lock and then put him over for a snap suplex. Gonzales popped his hips, got back up and put Trashcan over with another. The audience went nuts as Gonzales did it one more time and completed the three amigos. Gonzales then climbed up to the top rope and indicated that he was about to finish Trashcan off.

Ramona Holiday: "Viva la raza!"

Duff Buckley: "Is that not copywrite infringement?"

Ramona Holiday: "Who cares?"

As Gonzales indicated for a big move, Armada came out from under the ring and jumped up onto the apron. Armada shoved Gonzales off of the top rope and he flew to the outside, smashing his face off of the guard rail. Armada then climbed to the top rope and came off with the Divine Rapier onto Trashcan. Armada covered and got the three count.

Winner: Armada (***1/2)

"Sandstorm" by Darude cued up and Armada fled the ring. He paraded around ringside with his arms in the air as if he had just won the Grand Championship. He stepped over Gonzales body en route to the ramp. He posed halfway up the walkway as Paris showered him with boos.

Blake and Hightower stood in the middle of the ring and the bell sounded. Blake charged Hightower and hit him with hard kicks to the mid-section and the knees. She then took him over with an arm drag and hit him with a hard knee to the back of the head. She then jumped over him and went for a knee to the face but Hightower rolled backwards and protected his face.

Ramona Holiday: "Just when I thought this idiot couldn't be any more of a pussy."

Duff Buckley: "Remember Ramona, we are to be impartial."

The two locked up and Hightower forced Blake into a headlock. He took her down with a headlock takedown and kept her grounded, applying pressure. Blake was able to get her legs up and put Hightower on his back with a leg lock takeover. Hightower nipped up to his feet and went for a roundhouse kick to Blake's head but she avoided it.

Ramona Holiday: "Say what you will about any of the junior heavyweights on this roster but Brooklyn Blake is hands down the fastest."

Duff Buckley: "It comes along with being the smallest."

Ramona Holiday: "And having the most heart."

Blake got to her feet and rushed Hightower, pushing him into the corner with her shoulder. Hightower smashed her with a double axe handle to the back and then whipped her into the ropes. On her return she slid through his legs and applied a waist lock from behind. Hightower spun around and applied one of his own.

Duff Buckley: "This is a match I have anticipated since Chapter I. These two know each other, they know how the other fights."

Ramona Holiday: "I wouldn't go that far. Until you are in the ring with someone you know nothing."

Hightower attempted a German suplex but Blake did a full backflip and landed on her feet. Hightower collected himself and rallied, walking right into a tie up with Blake. Hightower used his strength to push Blake against the ropes, applied a head lock and then raked her eyes on the top rope.

Ramona Holiday: "A dirty move from a piece of shit. Makes sense."

Duff Buckley: "Ramona, please."

Hightower sent Blake over the top rope but she landed on the apron. She stood but Hightower charged and hit her with a clothesline from the ring that dropped her, first onto the apron and then to the outside. Hightower then pranced around for the audience and they showed him how much they hated him.

Ramona Holiday: "This motherfuc-"

Duff Buckley: "Ramona it is our duty to remain impartial. Enough. Call the fucking match."

Blake got to her feet on the outside and Hightower was on her. He charged at her but Blake hit a drop toe hold that put Hightower's face right into the steel ring steps. This afforded Blake a moment to recover, with the fans chanting her name. Blake began to feel the audience's support flow through her and she got Hightower up, sliding him back into the ring.

Ramona Holiday: "Brooklyn Blake is about to put Keegan Hightower away. I can't wait to see his face when it happens."

Blake got up onto the apron and taunted Hightower to his feet. When he got up, Blake hit a springboard into the ring and caught him with a hurricanranna that took him off of his feet. Hightower got back up, slower this time and Blake blasted him with a superkick that sent the gum from his mouth flying out into the tenth row.

Ramona Holiday: "Accelerate your breath, Hightower."

Truly feeling her momentum now, Blake got Hightower up. He went for a right hand but Blake ducked under it and applied a sleeper hold. Blake then dropped Hightower with the No Sleep 'Till Brooklyn and covered. Paris counted along with the referee but Blake only got a two count.

Duff Buckley: "Brooklyn Blake with the near fall! This could be her night!"

With Hightower still down, Blake went to apply the Brooklyn Bridge but Hightower was able to crawl forward and grab the bottom rope. The referee broke the hold and Blake obliged. Hightower was given a chance to stand but as soon as he was up again, Blake was on him. She went for a strike but Hightower grabbed her wrist, twisted it and then dropped a leg on it. Blake fell face first onto the canvas and writhed in agony.

Duff Buckley: "There it is. Armada's attack on Blake's wrist just came into play. A smart move from Hightower."

Ramona Holiday: "Opportunistic. Hightower couldn't put Blake down on his own but he may have a chance now. Slime."

Hightower stood and stomped on Blake's right wrist a few times before getting her up. Hightower stood Blake up and applied an arm wrench and then dropped another leg across it. With Blake face down, Hightower grabbed her arm and wrenched back with an inverted arm bar. Blake howled out in pain but refused to get up.

Duff Buckley: "Whether you like the tactic or not, this is smart on Keegan Hightower's part."

Ramona Holiday: "I never said that the kid isn't talented, he's just a fucking misogynist."

A "BROOK-LYN" chant started up among the Parisian fans as Blake was trapped in Hightower's arm bar. Hightower kept screaming "Ask her!" but Blake refused to give up every time the referee asked. After keeping the hold on for some time Hightower became frustrated and broke the hold. However, as soon as he did he jumped into the air and dropped a double stomp onto Blake's bad wrist.

Duff Buckley: "Blake may need serious medical attention after this contest."

Hightower got Blake up to her feet and applied a front face lock. Hightower scooped up Blake's leg and took her over with a fisherman's suplex. Hightower held it with a bridge but only got a two count. Blake sat up right after but Hightower hit the ropes and nailed her with a running knee to the face. Hightower then climbed to the top rope and came off with a flying leg drop, but onto her bad wrist!

Duff Buckley: "Jesus Christ. Hightower is showing no remorse in this contest. This is the most blood thirsty we've seen him."

Ramona Holiday: "Well he hates women so it makes sense."

Duff Buckley: "Enough!"

Blake rolled around the ring in agony and Hightower wanted to end the match. Hightower sent Blake into the corner and followed it up with a huge running splash. Blake went to come out of the corner in a daze but Hightower shoved her backward. Hightower sat her on the top rope but Blake caught him with a surprise slap. Blake then jumped forward and caught Hightower with the Powerplay tornado ddt! Hightower and Blake were both down with the audience chanting Blake's name.

Duff Buckley: "Brooklyn Blake needs to capitalize, this is her moment!"

Ramona Holiday: "Come on Blake! Get up!"

As the ten count started, both competitors got up. Blake favoured her wrist and went for a high kick but Hightower caught her and tossed her into the corner with an exploder suplex. This would have kept anyone else down but Blake got back up immediately, earning a huge pop from the audience.

Duff Buckley: "Blake just ate that suplex and got back up. I can't believe what I'm seeing."

Blake tossed a high kick at Hightower, which both surprised an dropped him. Blake then climbed to the top rope. The audience went insane for her but Hightower got back up and hit the top rope. Blake dropped and Hightower climbed up with her. The two fought for a moment. Hightower adjusted himself and then both came crashing off of the top rope to the outside in a heap, neither getting the upperhand.

Duff Buckley: "Jesus! I don't know who took the worst of that. What a hard landing."

Ramona Holiday: "The referee is going to count. Whomever gets in the ring is going to win."

Both competitors laid on the outside and the referee began the ten count. Blake and Hightower got to their feet at the same time and made for the ring but neither could make it into the ring before the referee reached ten.

Winner: Draw (****3/4)

Paris did not like the result of this contest and both competitors looked displeased. Blake stood and went for a handshake, with her good hand. Hightower looked at the other so Blake extended that instead.

Ramona Holiday: "Don't do it Brooklyn!"

As soon as Hightower accepted the handshake Hightower twisted her arm and hit her with a high knee to the face. Hightower then took her to the corner.

Ramona Holiday: "No. I don't fucking think so."

Holiday got up from the announce table and slid into the ring. Hightower turned just in time to see her coming and bailed out of the ring. Holiday begged for Hightower to get back into the ring and fight but he refused. Blake slowly got to a knee and Holiday helped her up. She then raised Blake's hand to raucous applause from Paris.

The main event of the evening saw Ellis Straker come to ringside and sit beside the Grand Championship pedestal. The two competitors hit the ring with The Herald of Destruction flanking Olethros. Shaelin Marie O'Hara came to the ring alone but to a massive ovation from the fans in Paris.

Duff Buckley: "The Herald of Destruction is out here with Olethros. We've never seen him ringside before."

Ramona Holiday: "This is an important match, it makes sense that he would be here."

The two competitors stood in the ring as Smoke Perkins walked up the steps with the championship, entered through the ropes and handed it to the referee.

Smoke Perkins: "Ladies and gentlemen. The following contest is scheduled for one fall and it is for the PANGAEA Professional Wrestling Grand Championship."

A big pop from the fans in Paris. We smash cut to Straker watching the ring with great focus.

Smoke Perkins: "Introducing first, weighing in at 315lbs., hailing from Parts Unknown, being accompanied by The Herald of Destruction, "The Murder Machine"...OLETHROS!"

A "Crush. Kill. Destroy." chant rose up from Olethros' supporters in Paris as the man himself stood silent on one side of the ring. His murderous glare did not shift away from O'Hara.

Smoke Perkins: "And his opponent, weighing in at 110lbs., hailing from Peshtigo, Wisconsin by way of Miles City, Montana, "The Predator Princess"...SHAELIN MARIE O'HARA!"

There was a large pop for O'Hara but she did not play to the audience. Her focus was solely on the man in front of her. The referee held up the Grand Championship and then handed it to Perkins. The referee then turned to Straker, who called for the bell.


The bell sounded at O'Hara approached Olethros with caution. Olethros just stood stationary as O'Hara approached him. She hit him with some leg kicks and then a high roundhouse kick to the head but Olethros just ate it. Olethros swung at her but O'Hara hit a hard kick to the back of his knee and then a dropkick to the back of his head that sent him stumbling forward.

Duff Buckley: "This is what O'Hara needs to do. She needs to hit and run, Olethros is too dangerous up close."

Ramona Holiday: "It's an interesting match. Strength versus speed. Both of them are undefeated. Someone falls tonight and someone rises to the top of the mountain."

Olethros turned, unfazed by the dropkick. He went for O'Hara but she charged and went for a headscissors takedown but Olethros no-sold it, staying upright. This sent O'Hara flopping onto the mat, however, she scrambled back up to her feet. O'Hara charged and hit Olethros with a high kick to his face that sent him back into the ropes.

Duff Buckley: "O'Hara needs to save some energy for later. Olethros will not die quickly."

O'Hara charged at Olethros and he went for a clothesline but she ducked under it, hit the ropes and came back with a quick chop block to the back of his knee. Olethros dropped to a knee and O'Hara hit the opposing ropes, she came back with a sick kick that put Olethros onto his back. Before O'Hara could capitalize, Olethros sat up which earned a pop from his supporters.
 
Ramona Holiday: "I am not someone who is easily creeped out but there is something...other worldly about Olethros."

Duff Buckley: "There are rumors that he isn't human."

Ramona Holiday: "I've heard them. What's worse is that with every match I see I am more inclined to fucking believe them."

O'Hara used her speed to quickly ascend to the top rope. While there, Olethros got to his feet. O'Hara pointed at Olethros and came off of the top rope with a missile dropkick but Olethros moved out out of the way and caught her with an overhand chop on the way down. Shaelin goes for a missile dropkick, but Olethros swats her out of the air with an overhand chop.

Duff Buckley: "O'Hara cannot make mistakes like this. Olethros will destroy her."

Ramona Holiday: "Do not doubt Shaelin Marie O'Hara. She has come this far. No one wants to give her her due but she is an incredible competitor."

Duff Buckley: "I never said she wasn't. She just needs to be smarter. This is the biggest match of her career."

The Herald cheered Olethros on from outside the ring as Olethros slowly walked over to O'Hara. The Murder Machine got O'Hara up and launched her into the corner. Olethros then charged in and threw his whole body at The Predator Princess, squashing her. O'Hara then stumbled out of the corner and Olethros levelled her with a clothesline.

Ramona Holiday: "You'd think that Gus Richlen would have made the trip to support his woman."

Duff Buckley: "Who?"

Olethros made an uncharacteristic move as he ascended to the top rope. O'Hara used here speed to quickly get up to the top rope with him. She dropped him to a seated position with a hard elbow to the face and then attempted a top rope frankensteiner but Olethros used his power to hang on. Olethros leapt off of the top rope with a jacknife powerbomb, planting O'Hara into the mat.

Duff Buckley: "Top rope powerbomb! O'Hara nearly went through the canvas!"

Ramona Holiday: "And yet his expression remains the same. This is just another day at the office for Olethros."

Duff Buckley: "It delt massive damage but I doubt that it will keep O'Hara down. It will take more than that tonight."

O'Hara laid on the mat, seeing stars. Olethros got up to his feet and knelt on her throat, staring at the referee to count. The latter obliged but O'Hara easily kicked out. Olethros showed no emotion, he just took hold of O'Hara by her hair. O'Hara broke his grip and nailed Olethros with a dropsault.

Ramona Holiday: "Keep on him Shaelin."

Olethros fell backwards and found himself draped over the second rope facing the audience. O'Hara wasted no time, she hit the ropes and came charging at Olethros. She hit a springboard off of the top rope, flew through the air and dropped a leg across the back of Olethros' head. 

Duff Buckley: "O'Hara needed that big move! Olethros could be in trouble." 

Ramona Holiday: "Olethros IS in trouble. Any time he gives O'Hara an opening he is in trouble."

O'Hara landed on the apron with Olethros bouncing backward onto his back. O'Hara quickly hit a springboard into the ring and came down on Olethros' chest with a double foot stomp, driving all of the air out of him. O'Hara then fell backwards and covered. The referee counted and a lot of Paris counted along with him. O'Hara only got a two count.

Duff Buckley: "If O'Hara keeps this up she can beat Olethros. She just cannot let up."

Ramona Holiday: "On that we agree."

The two competitors got back up and O'Hara charged at Olethros. Olethros side stepped her and sent her sailing over the top rope. She landed with a thud on the outside, right beside The Herald. He approached her and the referee warned him but The Herald did not touch her, he yelled at her.

The Herald: "You face the Destroyer, child! Your efforts are in vain!"

Duff Buckley: "As if Olethros wasn't enough, The Herald is out there berating O'Hara."

Ramona Holiday: "Perhaps Olethros was worried about O'Hara. That's why The Herald is out here, a mental insurance policy."

Duff Buckley: "I wouldn't let Olethros hear that theory."

O'Hara got up to her feet and The Herald back peddled. O'Hara got up onto the apron and Olethros went to grab her but she held the top rope and hit him with a high kick to the face. Olethros stumbled backward and O'Hara hit a springboard into the ring! She flipped over Olethros and nailed him with a blockbuster to put him down. O'Hara covered but Olethros powered out at two.

Ramona Holiday: "Shaelin Marie O'Hara is gaining momentum."

Duff Buckley: "The Herald didn't deter her."

Ramona Holiday: "He may have inspired her."

Olethros sat up again and stared at O'Hara. He then got to his feet and O'Hara charged him and again she went for a head scissor takedown. Olethros held on to her this time, reached up and took her by the throat. O'Hara tried to fight him but Olethros brought her crashing down by the throat onto his knee with the Spinal Shock. Olethros covered but only got a two count. His expression did not change.

Duff Buckley: "Every time he hits that move I cringe. It is a career ender."

O'Hara was down on the mat holding her back when Olethros grabbed her again, this time with more haste. Olethros hit her with a toe kick to the mid-section and then lifted O'Hara up for a powerbomb but O'Hara was able to float over and drive Olethros into the mat with a surprise code red! O'Hara landed in a pinfall and the referee counted but Olethros kicked out at two and a half.

Ramona Holiday: "O'Hara is matching Olethros hold for hold here. Neither competitor can keep the upper hand."

Duff Buckley: "This is the kind of tournament final that we want to see."

Ramona Holiday: "This is the kind of final that Ellis Straker wants to see."

With Olethros on the ropes, O'Hara got up to her feet and lifted herself up to the second rope. O'Hara pointed at Olethros and then leapt off and went for a tornado ddt. O'Hara nearly hit it but at the last second Olethros used his overwhelming power to get her up and over his shoulders in a fireman's carry. Olethros than ran into the corner and tossed O'Hara at it with the Bunker Buster. She landed in a heap, he dragged her out and covered for a two count.

Duff Buckley: "O'Hara will not stay down. The Predator Princess is truly showing her toughness."

Ramona Holiday: "Her toughness or the ineffectiveness of Olethros' offence? Maybe when faced with the right opponent Olethros isn't as bad as we've been led to believe."

Duff Buckley: "Maybe."

Ready to end the contest, Olethros got O'Hara up. The Herald cheered from ringside as Straker leaned forward in anticipation. Olethros lifted O'Hara up and swung her around for the C.K.D. but at the last second O'Hara turned it into a crucifix driver! Again Olethros' head took a rough bump and O'Hara kept his shoulders down. The referee nearly got a three count but Olethros kicked out at the last second.

Ramona Holiday: "We nearly had our first champion there!"

Duff Buckley: "More and more fans here in Paris are rallying behind O'Hara. Olethros may not be the monster that we thought."

Ramona Holiday: "No I see what it is now. He is a monster but O'Hara is good enough to make him look like he isn't."

Paris is firmly behind O'Hara as she got to her feet. Olethros got to his feet and let out a roar, showing his frustration. Olethros charged at O'Hara but she leap frogged over him. He turned around and she caught him with a head scissors takedown that finally worked. Olethros dropped to a knee. He looked up at O'Hara just in time to see her hit the ropes.

Ramona Holiday: "Come on O'Hara! This is your opportunity!"

On her return O'Hara was able to nail Olethros with a shining wizard that drew a massive pop from the audience. Olethros ate the knee to the face but did not go down so O'Hara hit the ropes again and this time hit the kneeling Olethros with another head scissors that drove his head right into the mat. O'Hara quickly covered and Paris counted too. The referee's arm was an inch away from a three count when Olethros powered out.

Duff Buckley: "That was it! O'Hara nearly had him! She can beat the monster!"

Ramona Holiday: "Goddamn right she can!"

Duff Buckley: "Paris believes in her! The world believes in her!"

O'Hara felt the momentum and went to move in for the kill when The Herald got up onto the apron. The Herald began screaming at Olethros "Destroy her! You are a machine!". Straker got up from his chair to intervene but O'Hara beat him to the punch. O'Hara spun around and sprayed red mist in the Herald's eyes. The audience went insane.

Ramona Holiday: "Red mist! The Herald is neutralized!" 

The Herald fell onto his back and to the outside of the ring, however, the distraction worked as Olethros got up. He grabbed O'Hara and spun her around. O'Hara tried to strike first with a high kick but Olethros shoved her into the ropes. He hit the opposing ropes and the two collided in the middle of the ring with Olethros nailing the Kinetic Crash. Both competitors were down on the mat with the audience roaring.

Duff Buckley: "What an impact! I think that hurt Olethros as much as it hurt O'Hara!"

Ramona Holiday: "That seemed like a desperate move to me. Olethros is shaken."

The two got to their feet, with O'Hara being the more dazed of the two. Olethros attempted a lariat but O'Hara evaded it at the last second. She hit him with a knee kick and then went for another but Olethros caught her foot. O'Hara used this opportunity to leap and nail the Shaelinziguiri! The kicks caught the back of Olethros' head and he dropped. O'Hara then stood and called out to the audience.

Ramona Holiday: "This is it! A woman is about to become the first PANGAEA Grand Champion!"

O'Hara took Olethros by the arms and set him up for the Fhoréigneach Ceimiceach, but at the last moment Olethros swung her around in front of him. The Herald, Ellis Straker and the rest of the world watched as Olethros spun O'Hara backwards and planted her with the C.K.D. He then covered and got the three count.

Winner: First Grand Champion, Olethros (*****)

The majority of the audience laid into Olethros with boos as the referee raised his hand. The Herald entered the ring, his face painted red as "Hail Destroyer" played over the p.a.

Duff Buckley: "This is him. This is our champion."

Ramona Holiday: "PANGAEA is officially ruled by a monster."

Duff Buckley: "A machine."

The Herald stood beside Olethros as Elis Straker stood on the outside of the ring. Straker collected the Grand Championship and entered the ring with the title belt. The referee sat on the middle rope as Straker entered. The Herald approached the Proprietor and held his hand out. Straker looked reluctant as he handed over the gold.

Duff Buckley: "As much as it may pain Straker, Olethros won the championship fair and square."

Ramona Holiday: "Olethros is no wrestler. He is a brute, a demon. And now...our champion."

Duff Buckley: "God have mercy on us all."

The Herald stood behind Olethros and fastened the Grand Championship around his waist. The Herald then moved to Olethros' side and held his hand high. Straker looked on intently as we cut to black, our champion crowned.
