▪︎ APPLYING ▪︎
This section is very basic at the moment because the federation is in it's infancy. That being said, PANGAEA is looking to take the chore out of e-wrestling; we want back and forth roleplaying with an emphasis on participation. Roleplaying has always been the key component of e-wrestling, however, with the age of social media and the ability to have full access to the internet on your person at all times...the game needs to change. You need to take advantage of new opportunities.PANGAEA will put strong emphasis on character building primarily through roleplays but through other forms of participation. If you participate, if you are with us to play this game to the best of your ability then you will succeed.
The best e-feds are the ones with the best communities. That is what we will be.
▪︎ PROMO RULES ▪︎
▪︎ Where To PostRoleplays for each event must be posted in reply to the appropriate match thread on the appropriate board. Please do not post in match threads that you are not a participant in.
▪︎ Deadlines & Limits
All deadlines will be posted in each respective match thread. Limits will be listed there as well. The federation standard at the moment is that we have no limits for roleplaying, however, each promo has a 1000 word limit.
▪︎ Mr. Plow
This rule pertains to 'plowing' your opponent. Get your mind out of the gutter, what we are referring to is posting two roleplays, back to back, right off the bat. If you are the first person to post a roleplay for a match, you may not post again until your opponent does. After you both have roleplayed, it does not matter who posts next.
▪︎ Last Stand
You may post only ONE roleplay in the final twenty-four hours of the roleplaying period.
▪︎ Stay Grounded
I know this is an e-fed and fantasy is to be expected. Please try to keep things reality based and as realistic as possible. If you post an in-ring promo they take a hit in scoring. We do not have house shows so unless your character has shown up at another federation's event to flap his gums, this is a big no-no. I really feel like I shouldn't have to say this.
▪︎ SCORING SYSTEM ▪︎
▪︎ Judging CriteriaThe way we judge promos is as follows; you get a score in each category and they are added together. Your score is then averaged between the scores of all of your roleplays that week. The person(s) with the highest average in the match win.
- Match Relevance: This should be obvious. You want to talk about your opponent and anything relevant pertaining to your match. If you ignore key issues such as an injury or something like that then you will be penalized.Scored Out of 5 Points
Character Development: We want to see your character develop. Duh. How have they reacted to things that have happened to them recently? How have they changed? Think about actual pro-wrestling and how the best stay relevant by re-inventing and adapting. Be bold, be adventurous and try new things. Do not be afraid to show weakness or doubt, it humanizes your character and makes them more fully formed.Scored Out of 3 Points
Awareness: This one is huge for me. Be aware of what is going on around you in PANGAEA. I don't need for you to comment on every single thing that happened on the show before (someone used to do that) but be aware of big storylines and events. If you ignore them, you look stupid. This also serves as a way to help me book things. If I know how your character feels then I have a better sense of what to do with you.Scored Out of 5 Points
Originality: Try new things, try new styles, TRY ANYTHING NEW. If you engage me then you will score higher, I have to read a lot of promos each week so separating yourself from the pack is a good idea.Scored Out of 2 Points
▪︎ Bonus Points
There are ways to get more points added to your average score. Roleplaying gets you the most points but if you do any of the following things, you are awarded a bonus.
- Strategy: If you submit a Strategy to the staff you are awarded 1 Point.
- Strike First: If you roleplay first for your match you are awarded a 1/2 Point
- Segment Idea: If you submit a segment idea to the staff you are awarded a 1/2 Point
